After the French and Cuban revolutions, Havanese as a breed has experienced a big crisis. But now the breed is gaining popularity, having a loyal following of believers in the breed who are actively campaigning to save the Havanese in the US. This dog belongs to a family of Bichons. French name Bichon Frise means “wool dog” or “curly dog.” “Bichon” means a beard, as the word “Barbichon” means a small beard, the word “Frise” means curly.
Bichon Havanese came in Cuba from an earlier breed known as Blanquito de la Habana. Bichon Havanese, it has improved the breed, he lived exclusively in the homes of aristocratic Cubans B18-th and 19 th centuries.
